Surprises!!

Hi Everybody! Woof Woof!

My pack leaders and I just spent six full days together as a pack. Boy did we have fun! One night I was sitting on the couch when one of the pack leaders pulled some new toys out of a package. I noticed that package sitting under a tree in our living room, but wasn't sure exactly what was going on. She then reached under the tree for another box, and pulled out this red scarf with a bell on it. She wrapped it around my neck, and for the next few hours, everywhere I went I heard this bell behind me. It seems to me this happened last year too!

The next day we got in the car and I went to a new place where I met two new humans and another dog! The humans were nice, but the dog kept barking in my ear! I think she was old and couldn't hear or see very well. We spent the night, and then went to see my favorite buddy, Pablo!

Something was up at Pablo's house. There were boxes everywhere, and some of the furniture was moved around. Shortly after we arrived, my pack leaders started moving the furniture and boxes up the stairs. I watched them closely to make sure they didn't hurt themselves, but Pablo just wanted to play. Sometimes I don't understand him. After a while the pack leaders all left us in the house to play. When they came back a few hours later, they just went to bed. I wonder why they didn't want to play?

The next day we came home, and I just laid around on the couch. It's my favorite place in the world.

Today was the best day, though. We went to a new forest where I got to run around and say hello to humans and other dogs. There were lots of smells and a river to explore. I noticed the one of the pack leaders kept putting that black box up to his face again. I wonder what that thing does?

That's all for now! Woof!

Spa Day!!!!

Hi everybody! Woof!!!!

It's been such a nice summer here in New England. It never really got that hot, and I spend most of the day inside, so it's been very comfortable for me all summer long! I've been on a few long walks through the forest, and gone with my pack leaders to a people park. I love the people park. We go through two gates, and then my pack leader leans over and unhooks my collar. Then I get to run free in the park and meet everybody there. There are always lots of other dogs there too, and I sniff around to meet them and say hi, but I love to say hello to all the people the best. Occasionally I'll run with or after another dog in the park, but I would rather say hello to all the people in the park.

Anyhow, the other day one of my pack leaders took me for my usual walk. It started out like any other walk, but instead of going back to my home, we stopped at a building I had never seen before. I was a bit nervous because we went inside, then my pack leader walked out the door without me! Woof!

Well, it turned out to be a doggy spa! I got a nice bath, and a hair cut - my first in months! They cut all the hair from around my eyes so now I can see again! After a quick nap, my pack leaders walked through the door and we got to finish our walk.

So, here I am before my spa trip -

and here I am now -

Bye everybody! Woof!

The pack grows . . . .

Hi everybody! Woof!

Wow, what an exciting week its been. First of all, we have a new member of our pack. I just love her to death! She lets me sleep on the bed with her, and takes me for short walks around the house. As you can see in the picture below, we get along really well.

Well, yesterday we all piled in to the car and took a really long drive. We first stopped at this big building, and the rest of the pack got out and loaded these long blue things into the back of the truck. Then we started to drive again, and we turned around, and we turned around again, and we drove some more. Then my pack leader pulled over on the side of the road and started working with the blue things, all the while traffic was speeding by. I was concerned that my pack leaders were going to get hurt, so I kept a close eye on them.

Finally we stopped at a lake, and my pack leaders took the long blue things and put them in the water. They tried to take me in one of them, but I'm still not to sure about water yet. I was a bit concerned because once they sat in the blue things, they floated away! But they always returned after a few minutes.

A while later, they put the blue things back in the truck, and we went to the open beach area. I followed my pack into the water, but I didn't like it very much. The new pack member picked me up and carried me out into the water, then let go of me. I didn't like that at all! I got back to the ground, then ran around in circles to dry off. When we got home I was exhausted. Woof!

Going to the Dogs . . .

Hi everybody! Another sunny day, another long walk!

Today, my master looked at me and said something about going to see other dogs, so I thought I was going on a play date. But after a long drive, we turned up a road with this sign:

It turns out this was another forest. I was a little bit disappointed that their weren't any other doggies there, but I always love a long walk with my master. So after he gave me a quick drink of water, we were ready to go.

This trail started nice and wide, but then got smaller and smaller as we went along. Pretty soon I was leading him down a very small trail. Even though there were big rocks sitting alone, and clumps of big rocks, all over the place, my master made me sit down in front of a particular rock and put that little silver box against his face. I don't know why he picked one rock over the other, but here is a picture of me in front of one of those rocks:

We went up and down several trails, but I'm really not sure my master knew what he was doing. Every time we got a good pace going, he would stop and make me sit, pull a piece of paper out if his pocket and look at it, then look around. I don't know what his problem was, I could tell where we were just by smelling the road. Maybe he should let me lead instead of tugging at me all the time!

Finally, we got back to our truck. My master put me on the bed of the truck to give me some water, but all I wanted to do was jump up and lay on the soft seats next to my master.

It was another great doggie day!

Bye for now!

A Day by the Lake

Lake Gardner, Amesbury, MA

Holy cow! What a walk this turned out to be! I hopped in the truck with my master and we went for a ride down some winding roads. Then we turned into what I thought was parking lot, but it turned out there was a lake on the other side. I was ready to go and say hi to all the people along the beach, but my master once again kept a firm grip on my leash.

After a few minutes of looking at the water, we started walking along a trail on the side of the lake. it was a dirt path that went into the forest. It was very cool in there, and there were lots of critters to chase after, but i really didn't see any other people around. Where was everybody on such a nice day?

After about 30 minutes we turned down a small trail that went right to the water. My master took his shoes off and went in, up to his ankles, but I was a bit afraid. The water was muddy and I did not want to get my paws all dirty. Can I help it if I'm a clean dog?

When we finished by the water we returned to the main trail. I was ready to head back in the direction we came from, but my master went the other way! What was he thinking? He must have read my mind though, because after just a few feet of trail, he turned around and we both headed back to the truck.

It was a long trip home, because we ended up driving along side another lake. I thought we were going to stop and walk again, but thankfully we didn't. When we got home, I took a long nap on the floor in front of the couch. My female master was a bit concerned that their might be something wrong with me, but I was fine. I heard them talking about this place, so maybe I'm coming back here again soon.

Bye for now!

A New Place to Walk

Hi everybody! It's been a while since I blogged, and I've missed you all. It's finally a bit warmer here, and the white stuff that makes my paws cold has gone away. Boy am I happy!

Just a few days ago, I got to go running along side my master as he rode his bicycle. Boy was it fun to stretch my legs. Today we went for a long walk in a place I've never been before. This place had a solid path with lots of trees and bushes along the side. There were lots of new smells, and all sorts of critters walking around. I made sure to mark my favorite places for our next visit.

About midway through our walk, we came across some old buildings built around a very loud river. We walked around those old buildings and I checked out all the smells while my master kept holding up a little silver box. I think he was pressing a button on top of the little silver box. Then sometimes he would talk angrily to the little silver box and hold it up again. Boy, is he strange sometimes.

There were some people along the trail that I wanted to meet and make friends with, but my master kept a firm hold on my leash, so I knew not to stray from his side. It was hard to do that when I saw a some critters though. My master just doesn't seem to understand that a dog needs to chase critters! Maybe someday he will learn.

Anyhow, it was a great day for a walk, and another great day to be a doggie. Bye!

Hello from Bennie!!!!!

Hi everybody! I'm sorry I haven't posted in a while, but I'm too busy running around the house, chasing critters outside, and sniffing around in the snow. A few weeks ago I met my cousin Pablo. Here is a picture of him:

We had lots of fun chasing the ball around and sniffing and biting each other. Here is a picture of us together:

A few nights ago, my masters put on some funny hats and and sat down in front of the TV with their dinners:

While they were eating, they started yelling and screaming at the TV, but then they got very quiet, so I jumped on the couch and started watching the TV too:

Shortly after that, they both got very quiet. My female master got up and went to bed without saying anything, while my male master just sat there and rubbed his head. They both seemed angry after a while.

Well, I don't know why they were mad. We got up the next morning, took a walk, and the sun was shining so bright, it was a great day to be a doggie!

Well thats all for now! Bye!
